It is fastest in the AC 5GHZ range and slowest in 2.4 ghz range. More power on some channels and less power in the DFS range to prevent interference on radar channels. It also has the other channels for use by WiFi not used for radar on any other use. Giving you an unused channel if is not used by radar or any other use. This router does open up unused 5GHZ range. Most routers do not operate in the DFS range of 5 GHZ.
